Grant Applications
Competetive grantmaking cycles offer funding opportunities for local organizations. These grants are made possible by the generosity of many donors.
How to Apply:
All grant requests are hosted and submitted through CFFC’s online grant system. To apply for a grant, you must create an account or log into your existing account.
Your “Applicant Dashboard” will host all of your active and historical grant requests and follow-up forms.
On the “Apply” page, applicants can view the current list of grant opportunities and preview questions before clicking the blue Apply button to begin. Applicants may save their work and return to it later, before submitting the online form by the listed deadline.
Grant Timelines
Spring Grant Cycle:

Fall Grant Cycle:
August 1 – September 15
Applicants can expect to be notified of their request status via email within 6 weeks of the application deadline.

Arthur and Millicent Gabriel Legacy Fund
Application: August 1, 2026 – September 15, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
The Arthur and Millicent Gabriel Legacy Fund is accepting grant requests for reusable items that will enhance the classroom(s). Funding will not be made for field trips or items that can only be used once.
Any teacher, school counselor, or administrator in the Laurel Highlands School District or Uniontown Area School District is encouraged to apply.
Requests from $750 up to $10,000 will be considered. A maximum total of $30,000 may be awarded this grant cycle.
Idea Fund
Application: August 1, 2026 – September 15, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
All school districts in Fayette County are eligible to apply for an Idea Fund grant in the amount of $2,500.
The Idea Fund was created by a donor who is interested in helping teachers achieve a level of creativity in the classroom that allows students of all learning styles to thrive. Particular attention will be paid to applicants who: demonstrate that the funds will be used to address the needs of students in the classroom who may not be the top grade earners; can show the sustainability of the program; and are willing to go beyond traditional teaching styles to reach students. Funds will not be granted to purchase books, magazines, or field trips.
Patricia and Robert Metz Educational Fund
Application: August 1, 2026 – September 15, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
The Patricia and Robert Metz Educational Fund is accepting grant requests to enhance STEM teaching and learning at the Uniontown Area School District’s middle schools or high school.
An award in the amount of $500 is intended to support teacher or student activities or the purchase of classroom materials. Possible uses include, but are not limited to: teacher professional development at the national or regional level, student field trips, demonstration or laboratory equipment, resource books or magazine subscriptions, and software or Internet resource subscriptions.

Agency Funds
Agency Funds are created by nonprofit organizations to support their work in perpetuity. CFFC holds and invests these funds and provides an annual return to the nonprofit. This type of fund allows the nonprofit to securely plan annual budgets, generating investment income year after year and supporting their sustainability. Fayette Gives
Fundraising and development is a key to nonprofit success. CFFC hosts Fayette Gives as an opportunity for local nonprofits to share their mission with the community and raise funds during one special “day of giving.” CFFC provides educational trainings, e-newsletters, and templates to help participating nonprofits plan for a successful fundraising campaign.
Nonprofit Workshops
CFFC provides nonprofit workshops and other educational opportunities to help nonprofits sharpen their skills and become more sustainable. Featured topics often include grant writing, governance, strategic planning, and fundraising. Workshops are announced in CFFC’s e-newsletter, News posts on the website, and on social media @cffayettepa.
