Growth Fund, 2007-2013
The Fayette Community Growth Fund was established in 2007 to strategically support community development and revitalization efforts across the County, starting with five targeted cities of Uniontown, Connellsville, Ohiopyle, Point Marion, and Brownsville.
This pooled, multi-year fund assisted in county-wide planning projects and served as a catalyst for positive change. Growth Fund awards through 2013 were directed to nonprofit agencies seeking support for pre-development planning, design, architectural, market or engineering analysis, and also designated for smaller groups interested in capacity building through feasibility studies and strategic plans. Of particular importance was support for outcome-based projects that would lead to next stage project implementation.
Partners in this Fund initiative include Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, Richard King Mellon Foundation, McCune Foundation, PA Department of Community and Economic Development, regional banks, Community Foundation of Fayette County, and individual donors.
