Dr. Denise M. Martin Scholarship Fund

This fund was originally created through the generosity of a group of Denise’s friends and co-workers at a retirement dinner held in her honor. It was then endowed by Denise and Jeffrey Martin.

Scholarships and Educational Awards

Higher Education Scholarship Awards
The Community Foundation of Fayette County offers a variety of educational awards ranging from $100 - $1500.  These awards are available to graduating high school seniors and to students already enrolled in a college, university or business school.  Awards cover a wide range of designations and interests, but applicants must be Fayette County residents to apply.

To be considered for an educational award, applicants must submit the Community Foundation's standardized 2012 Scholarship Application Form, along with supporting documents as stated on the application.

Applications are accepted from January 1 to April 1, but applications must be post-marked by April 1, to be considered. Selection is based on a variety of factors including academic promise and financial need.  However, some scholarships do not require financial need as part of their criteria.

The Educational Awards Committee makes recommendations from the applicant pool, and some awards are made directly through the high schools.  Students are encouraged to visit their Guidance Offices to learn more about scholarship opportunities and the application process.
