About the Community Foundation of Fayette County
Community foundations are one stop shops for philanthropy and the fastest growing sector in charitable giving. Community foundations identify current and emerging issues, direct resources to community needs, and assist their regions in planning for the future. Community foundations help donors keep their giving local, to better serve the areas where they live and work.
Unlike private foundations (which are created by an individual or family), community foundations invest and prudently manage a pool of funds created by a variety of individuals, families, businesses and organizations. Community foundations allow anyone to become a philanthropist.
Through donor created funds and creative programming, community foundations help non-profits and others by using their resources for public good, and supporting essential services like food banks, clinics, shelters, libraries, and volunteer fire companies. Community foundations have the flexibility to be innovative in connecting donors to charities and to develop timely solutions to pressing problems.
The Community Foundation of Fayette County is your local community foundation, and we strive to make Fayette County and Southwestern Pennsylvania a better place to live and to work. Please consider making a year-end donation to any of our existing funds, or start your own fund. Either way, you will receive an immediate year-end tax deduction. Join our family today!
