Westmoreland Fayette County Boy Scouts of America

W.D. Boyce brought Scouting to America from England in 1910.  The program came to our two counties a year later in 1911.  The year 1937 saw the two counties merge into one local Council which today is a non-profit corporate operating with volunteer officers and a volunteer board of directors.  The Council employs 11 professional staff and 5 office staff and serves about 10,000 youth through the Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing and Learning for Life programs.
